Can you translate a passage for me, or is there a "translation" site that can convert between Swahili and English?
Probably not, and not yet. We provide this site as a free public service, but we usually do not have the time to undertake additional translation work. If you are willing and able to pay for professional translation services, please contact us and we can put you in touch with professional translators for Swahili or other African languages. If you want the help of volunteers to translate short Swahili passages, you might try posting a polite query on the Swahili discussion forum. No "translation" site currently exists that can convert automatically between Swahili and English. In 2006 we added the ability to parse conjugated Swahili verbs to our Search Engine. In 2008 we began work with partner organizations to develop machine translation tools for Swahili - these tools will be announced on the Kamusi Project home page if and when they are completed.
